Introduction

On Saturday 22nd November 2025. Robota STEM Training held its conclusive programme on both Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Mechatronics training programme. The event consisted of the final class of the mechatronics and CAD training, the certification ceremony of students and the speech of the founder of Robota STEM Training (Hon. Samuel Ebenezer).
What the program entails?

The much-anticipated ULES and Robota STEM Finale Program recently concluded at UNILAG, marking a significant milestone in bringing the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills. The event was organised to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills such as CAD and Mechatronics in order to increase the value of students in the job market. So rather than leaving the academic space unawares of the demands and requirements of the current job landscape, students can navigate their way through the brutal job space through the resources and skills acquired from the programme. The day was organised to combine learning, recognition and celebrations. At 10:00 AM, Robota concluded its final mechatronics class which was hosted by Mr. Andrew Babatunde where he introduced the students to the Raspberry PI and also introduced several projects that the student will engage with in to boost their CV. At 11:00 AM, Robota also concluded its final CAD class by Mr. Korede Obayemi where he also introduced the students to a new software used for industrial design called Solidworks. He also gave students the possibilities of what they could create using these industry standard CAD softwares and the countless opportunities in the field of CAD Design.
CEO & Sub-Dean speech

Later on, Hon. Samuel Ebenezer gave a speech to the students emphasizing the reality of today's job market. He reminded participants that conventional employment is no longer guaranteed and encouraged them to create their own opportunities by acquiring practical, in-demand skills. The Sub-Dean's speech expressed gratitude to Robota for bringing the STEM programme to UNILAG. He highlighted how initiatives like this equip engineering students with hands-on experience, preparing them to excel in their careers immediately after graduation.
Certificate Ceremony & Photography Sessions

Finally, we concluded the program by awarding certificates to the participating students, recognizing their dedication and hard work throughout the program. Special recognition was given to the two top performing students namely: Shola Abdulazzez and Mubarak Ibrahim who achieve top scores. The finale concluded on a high note with photography sessions and gift distributions. Organizers announced that preparations are already underway for the next edition in 2026, promising even more opportunities for students to enhance their skills and employability.
Final Thoughts
The ULES and Robota STEM Finale Program successfully combined education, recognition, and inspiration, leaving students motivated to pursue excellence in engineering and STEM fields. With such initiatives, UNILAG students are better positioned to not only enter the workforce but also to create impactful innovations in the ever-evolving technological landscape.
